Bring on the SNOW!!

I would think the next place we live is going to have an abundance of snow during the winter months.  Three seems to be the magic number.  Charleston three years.. Greenville, three years.  Charlotte is making it through its first year.  Maine? Seattle?

Last night I told JaLynn if she went to bed and woke up in the morning there would be a blanket of snow covering the ground.  Mommy has magic powers and she was right once again.  Bright eyed and bushy haired JaLynn strolled into our bedroom to say, "Mommy, where is the snow?" I rolled over and pulled up the blinds which was followed by a "Gasp".  Anxiously awaiting to go outside we got dressed after breakfast, a cup of coffee, and a phone call to TT.

Snow angels. Throwing snowballs at Daddyand sleighing down the hill in every way imaginable made for an awesome day. We ended our family expedition with a snow man.  A nice snow brings fresh air and family fun :)

Get Your OMEGA' S

There is a lady I work with that is in her 40's and I am always starring at her skin wondering what type of 'work' she has had done.  I find myself asking, "Ok, WHAT are you using? Retin-A?  Peels?"  It finally hit me after watching Dr. Oz talk about canned salmon and organic tilapia-   Our body cannot make essential fatty-acids EFA and we constantly replenish them by food intake.

Here's how it works-
Omega 3 fatty acids maintain the structure and fluidity of the cell membrane making sure nutrients enter the cell and waste products are removed.

Positives:

1. Omega=Anti-aging
Collagen is a nutrient found in the skin that holds skin together. As we age the body produces less collagen; as a result the binding force between skin reduce and sagging/ wrinkled skin appears. EFA strengthen enzymes to promote the production of collagen from within the body; delaying the effect of aging. They boost hydration level in the skin and keep it moist; helping to maintain elasticity in the skin leaving the skin smooth and supple.

2.  Prevents acne and helps with various skin disorders: eczema, psoriasis, excessive dryness, itchy skin & other allergies.
The primary reason for the appearance of acne is the sebum in hair follicles. These fats inhibit the production of a hormone called Androgen, which is responsible for monitoring the excretion of sebum. Second, the anti-inflammatory property of these fats reduces the size of acne and prevents them from reappearing.

3. Boosts Brain Power: myelin sheaths which surround the brain cells contain essential fatty acids that are directly involved in transmitting and receiving brain messages from other parts of the body.  You might say these essential fatty acids keep the "switchboard" or message center- your brain- functioning at its best.

So, after work today I stopped by the Teet and picked up a few packs of tuna and salmon.  I've also been taking Omega 3 Supplements but not consistently.   I ordered my second bottle of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega.  The reviews on this are great . Look forward to before and after pictures.
